Job Description Summary Prepares and processes tissue samples for routine histologic techniques to be examined under a microscope by a pathologist. The histologic techniques include fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining of human and animal tissue for evaluation. The Histotechnician (HT) assures laboratories compliance in meeting the standards set forth by JCAHO, DHEC, CLIA and College of American Pathologist (CAP). Minimum Training andEducation Associates degree from an accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology andchemistry(must include credit hours in both). Experience: Atleast 1 year of clinical laboratory workexperiencerequired. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations :HT(ASCP) certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or equivalent.
