Job Description The University of South Florida is seeking an Audiologist to join the Otolaryngology- Head &
neck Surgery Department. Our multidisciplinary ear, nose, and throat (ENT) team provides
patient care at multiple USF and Tampa General Hospital (TGH) ailiated locations. We are
seeking a clinical Audiologist to be an integral member of the ENT healthcare team and
evaluate patients with ear abnormalities and/or auditory-vestibular disorders through case
history, clinical observation and diagnostic tests. Audiologist will contribute to
multidisciplinary approach to treatment and care planning, and will provide (re)habilitative
programs for patients with auditory-vestibular disorders. Audiologist also plans and
implements hearing protection and fall prevention programs, along with (re)habilitation
services, including individualized selection of hearing assistive technology (hearing aids,
bone conduction solutions, etc), fitting with verification and validation measures,
counseling, and orientation and self-management support. Audiologist with pediatric experience is preferred that provides evidence-based patient
care with a whole-child and whole-family approach. We aim to provide excellent evidence based
practice and allow clinicians to grow in their clinical skills and interests. Responsibilities CLINICAL
• Independently maintains a clinical caseload in designated clinical area
• Provides evidence based evaluation and treatment to diverse, medically challenging
patient populations
• Advise and counsel patients and their families regarding test results, hearing loss
treatment and (re)habilitation options, and preventative measures
• Recommend (re)habilitations programs with hearing assistive technology, Dispense
hearing aids and other listening devices. Counsel and advise patients and their
families in the care, use and maintenance of their hearing aids and/or other listening
devices.
• Provides quality service delivery techniques that facilitate optimum services to
meet patient needs being sensitive to patient's age and social determinants of
health
• Completes required documentation accurately and within the designated time
frame which may include report writing, billing, department documentation
requirements
• Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as with Division
colleagues to promote best care of the patient
• Participates in the clinical peer review process
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives within assigned work area
under the supervision of division leadership
• Takes initiative to remain current in clinical practice through lectures, literature, and
other educational opportunities
• Organizes daily schedule to prioritize responsibilities including the integration of
meetings, responsibilities, or tasks into schedule without negative impact on patient
care or productivity
• Maintains confidentiality pertaining to patient care and all Division policies and
procedures
• Functions in a self-directed manner and takes ownership to manage self and work
including responsibility for actions and accountability for results
• Maintains professional demeanor and is responsible for quality care in all
interactions
• Uses technology (e.g., computer skills, electronic medical record system) to meet
job requirements
• Maintains productivity standards
• Completes clinical privileges consistent with job responsibilities and annual
assignment for personal development plan
• Performs duties/ tasks/ assignments as directed to support Division goals or needs
• Meets and adheres to ASHA, state licensure board and Division clinical practice
guidelines TEACHING -
• Support clinical trainee programs (e.g., ENT Residents, AuD interns and externs, etc)
within the clinical setting.
• Engage actively with the Otolaryngology residency program and Doctor of Audiology
program in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD)
Department.
• Serve as a clinical resource for residents, medical, and APP students rotating
through the department, modeling team-based care RESEARCH -
• Support clinical research/scholarship by promoting research opportunities as
appropriate to potentially eligible patients.
• Opportunity to participate in departmental clinical research initiatives, including
ongoing trials.
• Opportunity to contribute to scholarly projects led by faculty colleagues and
trainees (residents, MD, AuD and/or PhD students), with potential for coauthorship
and presentation at regional and national meetings.
• Ability to engage with the broader USF/TGH research enterprise as opportunities
and interests align. Administrative -
• Complete clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including
patient encounters and patient messages.
• Manage patient-specific paperwork including all hearing aid and other technology
ordering/dispensing documentation.
• Participate in departmental/division quality improvement initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor. Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310. Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to obtain Florida state license in audiology required.
• Ability to obtain ASHA CCC-A certification.
• Work requires a Doctorate in Audiology or a Master's degree in Audiology.
• No experience required. 4th year AuD Externship/Residency is considered relevant
clinical experience. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with patients of all ages with special interest in pediatric
patients, or
• Expertise in electrophysiology, and
