SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKER (PARKS STEWARD PROGRAM) DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION AND CEMETERY CITY OF WORCESTER The City of Worcester is seeking qualified candidates for Seasonal Maintenance Workers for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cemetery. Under the direction of the Seasonal Maintenance Director, the position will work for the Park Steward Program to maintain the City of Worcester Parks and Facilities and perform routine manual maintenance operations including green space maintenance, event operations, painting, trash removal, facility maintenance and other work as assigned. All work is performed outdoors, in all types of weather conditions and in accordance with the City of Worcester standard Park/Cemetery maintenance practices and procedures. This is a seasonal position, with an approximate end date of August21, 2026. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS Perform general landscaping duties and assist with special events Removal of trash and rubbish from assigned areas Perform manual labor with hand tools Assist in record keeping REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions Ability to perform manual tasks requiring some physical exertion Ability to accept supervision/guidance Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work twenty-five (25) hours per week MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 16 years of age or older Experience working with hand tools Basic landscaping and custodial skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certified American Red Cross First-Aid & CPR/AED Valid Driver’s License STARTING SALARY $15.00 hourly, seasonal, non-benefitted To apply, please visit: or send resume and cover letter to: City of Worcester, 455 Main Street, Room 109, Worcester, MA01608.
