Certified Surgical Tech II- Downtown

Job Summary Under general supervision, the Certified Surgical Technologist II functions as a member of the operating room team to prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures and perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care, adhering to established procedural guidelines. Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage sterile supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. Assist operating room team during surgeries, providing direct patient care. Replenish supplies, manage instrument flow, and maintain instrument integrity. Assist providers and nurses with vaginal deliveries and other room duties. Engage with front‑desk staff and provide customer service when needed. Apply advanced critical thinking and problem‑solving skills in emergency situations in the operating room. Work autonomously and collaborate with peers to assess patient and surgeon needs. Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (formerly LCC‑ST). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, either American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. High School Diploma. Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or a surgical technology military program. At least one year of work experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (Level I). Two years of operating‑room experience is preferred for Level II position. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, walk, and perform job duties continuously. Ability to climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors, and handle temperature extremes. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb. unassisted; lift objects up to 36 in. and overhead as needed. Ability to perform fine and gross manipulation with fingers and hands, maintain range of motion, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to maintain vision, hearing, and balance for effective job performance. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in a latex‑safe environment.
