Sr. Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Backend/API Developer with a strong foundation in Java programming to join our team as a contractor. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in backend development, focusing on building robust and scalable APIs. This role requires a deep understanding of Java and its frameworks, as well as a passion for developing high quality software solutions. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java.
• Collaborate with front end developers to integrate user facing elements with server side logic.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing applications and services.
• Work with databases and data storage solutions to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance development processes.
• Document development processes, code changes, and technical specifications.

• Strong proficiency in Java programming (Java 8 or higher).
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Java EE.
• Solid understanding of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Understanding of security best practices in API development.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 7 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proven track record of delivering high quality software solutions on time.
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
