A local company that provides medical alert devices and in-home emergency response systems is looking to add a Medical Billing Specialist to their growing team. Their mission is to help seniors and other vulnerable individuals maintain independence by providing reliable emergency response services and peace of mind for families.


This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed administrative work, insurance verification, and customer service in a supportive office environment. You'll begin by focusing on prior authorizations before expanding into medical billing responsibilities as your training progresses.


What You'll Do

• Obtain and process insurance prior authorizations
• Verify insurance eligibility and required procedure codes
• Submit, monitor, and follow up on authorization requests
• Manage annual authorization renewals and monthly insurance updates
• Transition into medical billing responsibilities after training
• Process monthly customer billing and review invoices for accuracy
• Post payments and research billing discrepancies
• Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation
• Assist customers with billing questions in a professional and compassionate manner
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding equipment activations, deactivations, and service changes
• Monitor past-due accounts and assist with collections efforts
• Prepare reports and assist with administrative projects as needed
