HVAC Estimator - Remote - Must Reside in Texas

Position Overview

This is a newly created position driven by company growth. The HVAC Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and multifamily mechanical construction projects while working closely with ownership, preconstruction leadership, project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.

The successful candidate will help streamline the estimating process, allowing senior leadership to focus on strategic growth initiatives while ensuring high-quality bid preparation and project planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC estimates for commercial and multifamily construction projects.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and comprehensive cost analysis.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare competitive bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Preconstruction teams throughout the estimating process.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Coordinate with engineering and design teams on Design-Build and Design-Assist projects.
• Participate in bid reviews and project turnover meetings.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and historical pricing databases.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of HVAC estimating experience (senior candidates are encouraged to apply).
• Direct HVAC estimating experience is required.
• Previous experience working for a Mechanical or MEP Contractor is strongly preferred.
• Proven estimating experience on:
• • Commercial projects
  • Multifamily developments
  • K-12 facilities
  • Senior living projects
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical construction practices.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Design-Build and Design-Assist projects.
• Experience coordinating with General Contractors, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Project Managers.
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems related to HVAC installations.
• Multi-state project experience is a plus.
• Leadership potential with an interest in growing into a Lead Estimator role.

Software Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

• Bluebeam Revu
• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Office Suite
