Details Work setting is a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care beds across specialized inpatient oncology units (36 beds per unit) Units are specialized by cancer diagnosis, including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, PCU Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and Corrections Healthcare Floating required across MedSurg and PCU Oncology units PCU staffing ratio is 1:3, up to 1:4 with mixed acuity; Med/Surg Tele is ideally 1:4, up to 1:5 Primary shift is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30); day/night rotating scheduling is also available depending on unit needs Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit needs Self-scheduling requests are submitted for consideration prior to the final schedule being posted; scheduling periods are reviewed every 4 weeks 16-week contract Requirements Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU-level or higher nursing experience required Oncology experience is preferred but not required 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration Additional Information Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention Orientation consists of the first week Mon–Fri on day shift, followed by 5 bedside orientation shifts across weeks 2 and 3, then independent practice All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration Candidates who have previously worked at this facility do not require a 30-day break between assignments to change representation American Traveler Job ID P-692926L.
