Details Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting in a teaching hospital Patient population includes post cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, LVAD/RVAD, and ECMO patients Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2 Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30 36 hours per week Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday for night shift) Rotating holiday coverage required Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification preferred Minimum 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred Epic experience required Prior travel experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills required include IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, and intra-aortic balloon pump management Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management required Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references accepted) Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular surgical and interventional patients Manage patients with hemodynamic monitoring devices including PA lines, arterial lines, and balloon pumps Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition Care for patients on ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula Administer emergency medications and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips Local candidates accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing the contract American Traveler Job ID P-717182.
