Job Location Valley Health System - Ridgewood, New Jersey, USA. Position Summary Reporting to and functioning under general supervision of the Supervisor, the Imaging Technologist prepares for a variety of radiologic procedures to produce images of the body for the diagnosis of pathological conditions and traumatic disorders. Operates radiation producing equipment following specific physician orders. Produces detailed images of patients for diagnostic information. Verifies patient identification process prior to imaging, selects patient from worklist, ensures exam is archived on the PACS and completed properly in the RIS. Maintains facilities are in proper order. Must keep abreast of all imaging protocols and new imaging equipment. Responsibilities Prepare patient and imaging equipment for procedures. Operate X-ray and other radiation-producing equipment as ordered. Ensure correct patient identification and imaging workflow. Verify and archive images in PACS and RIS systems. Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment and accessories. Adhere to safety, infection control, and radiation protection protocols. Shift and Schedule Shift: 09:30 AM – 08:00 PM (4–10 hour days) with every 3rd weekend, 1 winter holiday, and 1 summer holiday. Education and Certification Completion from an accredited Radiology Technology program and registered by the ARRT, or eligible for registration. Must obtain ARRT certification within one (1) year of employment. Registered in Radiologic Technology by the ARRT, current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association. Experience Practical experience as a Radiographer preferred. New graduates with certification considered. Skills & Abilities Physical dexterity to operate complex stationary and mobile radiation-producing equipment. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and vascular systems. Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to perform tasks accurately and with attention to detail, shifting priorities efficiently. Ability to function independently and competently in stressful situations. Cooperative teamwork with multidisciplinary staff, including physicians, Patient Care Services, and others. Effective time management and prioritization. Analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving. Physical Requirements Requires physical dexterity, ability to operate stationary and mobile equipment, and work within sensitive areas such as the OR and critical care units.
