Lifeguard Position

Every shift as a Lifeguard is active and fast-paced. You'll rotate stations while keeping a sharp eye on the pool and surrounding areas, enforce safety rules, and step in quickly to assist patrons or respond to emergencies. You'll check water conditions, help with light cleaning and setup, and spend plenty of time interacting with guests to keep the environment positive and welcoming. Shifts can include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, so flexibility is key.

We're looking for dependable, safety-focused individuals who are comfortable working with people of all ages and can stay calm under pressure. Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety are essential. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain required lifeguard, CPR, AED, and first aid certifications.

Patrols pool area to observe activities of individuals in an aquatic facility to ensure participant safety and compliance with facility rules. Provides general customer service and communicates with the public regarding fees, policies, rules and general information about the facility or event. Instructs swim and water safety programs in accordance with American Red Cross standards at an aquatic facility. Maintains appropriate records associated with an aquatic facility. Performs tasks involved in the general operation of an aquatic facility, including physical tasks which involve moving various pieces of equipment and basic mechanical tasks. Enforces facility and public health rules and regulations. Cleans aquatic facilities; performs and records chemical tests; turns fountains and related water features off and on. Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

No previous training or experience required. Must be at least 15 years of age. Current First Aid and CPR certificates required. American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.

Driving records are required for all new employees regardless of the position's driving requirements. If the employee has not held a Wyoming driver's license for the last three years, the employee must provide at their own initiation and expense a driving record from their previous state(s) of residence.
