About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to establish and lead the risk function for a digital asset banking institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing risk processes, workflows, and procedures, with a focus on building out the AML/BSA, KYC, and digital asset-specific layers. This role is pivotal in the hands-on build of the institution, including working closely with the technology team and acting as a key point of contact for regulators. The CRO will also be part of a small, senior founding leadership team, shaping the institution's risk posture from the ground up. Applicants for the Chief Risk Officer position at the company should have a strong risk management background, with experience in financial crimes and compliance being valuable. The role requires a candidate who is comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed levels in a startup environment and has prior experience as a primary point of contact with regulators. While not mandatory, exposure to or a strong interest in digital asset risk is a plus, and digital asset industry experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at building risk infrastructure from scratch and be ready to take on the challenge of doing so in the digital asset space. The company is backed by a public parent company, providing the necessary capital and infrastructure for a zero to one build experience.
