Pain Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Locations: Inova Loudoun Hospital, Loudoun Pain Clinic (Fairfax, VA and Ashburn, VA, United States). Job ID: 683481 Job Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (travel to Fairfax East and Fair Oaks Pain Clinics as needed). Inova Comprehensive Pain Centers offer a range of services for people living with acute or chronic pain. Through a multidisciplinary team, we provide interventional pain procedures and supporting medications, emphasizing non-opioid therapies. Pain Medicine APP Job Responsibilities See a mix of new and established patients to collaborate and support one physician at the Loudoun pain clinic and other locations as needed. Obtain comprehensive medical and pain histories. Perform focused physical exams (spinal, motor, musculoskeletal). Manage and assess acute and chronic pain. Recommend pharmacologic options, favoring non-opioid therapies. Educate patients, facilitate referrals to Neurosurgery, Behavioral Health, Rehab/PT, etc. when appropriate. Perform trigger point and joint injections (if interested). Assess behavioral comorbidities and refer to pain psychologist on staff when appropriate. Common Conditions Managed Chronic low back pain Neck pain Radiculopathy Spinal stenosis Degenerative disc disease Neuropathic pain Post-surgical pain Additional Requirements Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Master’s degree required. Experience: Minimum one year as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred. Prior experience in Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Primary Care, or related specialty is preferred. Experience evaluating and managing acute and chronic pain desirable. Payer Credentialing: Ability to complete third‑party payer credentialing and enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payer. Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges to perform all required services. Preferred Qualifications Prior APP experience in Neurosciences, Pain Medicine, Spine, or Psychiatry. Inova Health System is an Equal Opportunity employer.
