About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: - Duration: Full-time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Required education, training and experience to perform assigned tasks License: Must be registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences. Certifications: Requires advanced certification in CT. Must-Have: - Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science. - Must become registered within one year of employment. - Maintains registry status and continuing education requirements annually. - Current competency in HCP BLS. Description: Conducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Uses professional manners and methods, verifies patient identification, and obtains patient history. Assists patients and family members that require extra attention and ensures patient safety. Verifies patient identification and documents pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age. Obtains images per protocols, manipulates images according to protocols, and performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of CT algorithms and selects appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy. Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols. Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures. Follows correct procedures to determine contrast eligibility and checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection. Maintains understanding of PACS and transmits images to quality control, EMR, and PACS. Verifies and segments images at the quality control station and accesses service tools to verify image transmission. Completes, modifies, and/or cancels orders in an appropriate and timely manner. Insures accuracy of all charge information. Verifies patient identification in accordance with policy and ensures that demographic information is accurate. Performs tasks in a timely manner and creates a consistent workflow. Volunteers to work on challenging tasks and produces quality diagnostic images. Reviews patient charts and reports for correlation and maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Creates and keeps documentation of incidents as improvement opportunities. Precepts new employees and students.
