Passionate about shaping young minds and fostering a love for mathematics? Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity teaching 6th grade math in a dynamic educational setting near Philadelphia, PA. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting students’ academic growth during crucial middle school years, blending skillful instruction with encouragement and care.
What You’ll Bring:
- Current PA Instructional I or II Certification in Mathematics for grades 6-8 (required)
- Minimum of one year’s teaching experience in a math classroom
- Deep understanding of core math concepts and effective instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
- Enthusiasm for curriculum planning, differentiating instruction, and collaborating with colleagues
- Dedication to maintaining clear communication with students, families, and administrators
- Candidates holding only emergency certification cannot be considered for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging mathematics lessons to 6th grade students, nurturing critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal evaluations, adjusting instruction as needed
- Collaborate closely with grade-level teams and participate in professional development activities
- Establish a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect and curiosity
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students’ families regarding progress and classroom activities
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, assignments, and academic performance
This position offers a weekly schedule of 40 hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM. Compensation ranges from $36.25 to $46.25 per hour, reflecting your expertise and commitment.
