Cook Position Child Care Center

We are seeking a dependable and organized Cook to join our team at a well-established child care center in San Antonio. This role is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.

Position Overview

The Cook prepares daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to a planned menu and food program guidelines. This position plays an important role in supporting children's health and ensuring meals are served on schedule each day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks for children
• Follow established menus and portion requirements
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen
• Receive and properly store food deliveries
• Track food inventory and communicate supply needs
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Maintain required food program documentation and meal counts
• Ensure kitchen equipment and food preparation areas are properly maintained
• Work closely with leadership to ensure compliance with food program requirements

Qualifications

• Experience preparing meals for groups preferred
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to stay organized and work efficiently on a schedule
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Able to lift food boxes and stand for extended periods
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)

• MondayFriday
• Daytime hours

Compensation: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
