Program Manager

Program Manager Location: East Farmingdale, NY Salary: $125,300 to $150,000 annually We are looking for a Program Manager to join our Target Rock Team! As a Program Manager you will be responsible for business results on the business unit’s Defense Valves Program, which includes Profit and Loss accountability, meeting the annual plan and driving growth for the business unit. The position includes leadership of a cross‑functional Defense Valves Product Line (Programs/Contract Administrators, Project Engineers, QA Engineers, Planners, Buyers, Production Control), new business generation, proposal generation (leading Bid/No-Bid activities), booking orders, and overseeing operational activities to ensure customer satisfaction for the site’s single largest customer. Responsibilities Lead cross‑functional teams to ensure all project commitments are satisfied. Direct ownership of 20% of the business unit’s annual P&L. Report financial metrics to senior management: Operational Income, Sales, Cash‑flow, Working Capital, %ROS, etc. Create, track, assign and distribute various documentation and reports for managing and monitoring the applicable programs, including Sales Plan, Delivery Reports, Project Schedules, etc. Establish, track, and monitor all project budgets; develop, implement, and monitor contingency or recovery plans based on actual project performance. Support Sales in request for quotes (RFQ) and/or invitations to bid (ITB), reviews of terms and conditions (T&C), and project/budget histories. Act as customer interface for scheduling, Customer Audits, Surveillance Inspections, and providing Project Progress Reports as required. Meet annual sales booking targets. Approve and assign Warranty Projects as necessary. Interact with sourcing and suppliers to plan for and secure the materials needed for the program and future production. Periodically travel to customer and supplier sites to support program execution and business development activities. Take a proactive stance by developing contingency plans in potential risk areas and identifying deployment criteria to resolve potential problems. Report potential problems to upper management and apprise senior management of all concerns noted in the course of performing daily activities. Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance. Five (5) years’ experience in Program Management and familiarity with technical/engineering specifications and procedures. Excellent communication and writing skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and manage detailed program budgets. Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems and Risk Management. Strong financial acumen and experience reporting financials to senior management. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures for a high‑complexity product line. Prior engineering/operations experience with current experience in program management. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Strong customer relationship experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse internal and external audiences. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. Proficiency in computer skills, with excellence in MS Office including MS Project. Prior mainframe applications and ORACLE ERP knowledge is a plus. Prior experience with overseeing Navy programs is a plus.
