We are seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, prototyping, testing, and documentation of complex mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical design, DFM/DFA, SolidWorks, GD&T, prototyping, testing, and medical device/equipment development.

• Serve as an emerging technical authority within the mechanical engineering discipline.

• Develop innovative solutions to complex analytical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical design challenges.

• Establish system and component design objectives and contribute to complex engineering specifications and reports.

• Review and develop product specifications.

• Conduct conceptual and detailed design studies using MCAD tools , preferably SolidWorks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Develop prototypes using internal manufacturing resources and external vendors.

• Design and execute product testing to verify compliance with specification, environmental, regulatory, and safety requirements.

• Generate technical and engineering documentation supporting product design and development.

• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Lead small to medium-sized engineering projects as a Project Leader or Lead Engineer.

• Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination of engineering activities.

• Strong experience with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFA) , including cost, tooling, and manufacturing process considerations.

• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software .

• Experience designing and developing components and assemblies using:

  • Injection molding

  • Plastic extrusion

  • Casting

  • Sheet metal

  • Metal stamping

  • Additive manufacturing

  • Machined metal components

• Experience with high-part-count mechanical assemblies is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of ANSI/ISO dimensioning and drafting standards .

• Strong knowledge of GD&T , mechanical measurement techniques, and test equipment.

• Experience analyzing and interpreting statistical test data.

• Experience with electronic document control systems, preferably within medical device or medical equipment development .

• Strong analytical reasoning, mechanism design, mathematical analysis, and creative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to establish schedules, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple engineering activities.

• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with dimensional and tolerance analysis, thermal and structural analysis, and vibration testing/analysis.

• Working knowledge of FDA, IEC, and UL standards applicable to medical electronic equipment.

• Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills.

• Ability to operate testing equipment, including:

  • Pressure and flow measurement equipment

  • Temperature/humidity chambers

  • PC-based data acquisition/data recorders

  • Simulators

  • Digital multimeters (DVMs)

  • Oscilloscopes

• Familiarity with basic shop equipment, including:

  • Drill press

  • Lathe

  • Milling machine

  • Brake and shear equipment

• Experience in medical device, medical equipment, or regulated product development .

• Experience working with electromechanical, electro-pneumatic, or complex mechanical systems.

• Experience with product verification, validation, prototyping, and design transfer activities.

• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading engineering projects.
