Merchandise Planner

The Merchandising Planner plays a critical role in the success of our Merchandising department by providing essential analytical, administrative, and project coordination support. This individual will partner directly with a team of Merchants, acting as their primary resource for the data, analysis, and tactical execution required to maintain and grow their product categories. The core of this role involves pulling and organizing data into digestible reports, presenting findings with clear insights and recommendations, and managing the day-to-day administrative tasks that keep our assortments current and accurate. This position is ideal for a driven and curious individual with aspirations for a career in Merchandising. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing both operational duties and data analysis, possessing the communication skills to build strong relationships and deliver concise, impactful messages. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities Data Analysis & Reporting Pull and organize data from various systems (primarily Excel and Snowflake/SQL) to support the needs of the Merchant team. Analyze financial data, sales trends, and market data to identify growth opportunities, risks, and insights. Develop and prepare clear, digestible reports and presentations that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations to Merchants. SKU & Category Maintenance Manage the SKU lifecycle by using Excel templates and our proprietary system to update item attributes and maintain data integrity. Handle day-to-day tactical and administrative duties, such as filling out forms for item updates and maintaining vendor records and contact information. Project Coordination Serve as a project coordinator for new SKU creation, watching projects from beginning to end to ensure all tasks are completed and deadlines are met. Assist the Merchant team with ad hoc projects as assigned. Merchant & Cross-Functional Support Serve as the first point of contact for the analytics and administrative needs of the assigned Merchant team. Collaborate with internal partners to conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and recommend solutions. Assist in preparing reports and analyses for vendor meetings and negotiations. Analytical Mindset: You are not only comfortable pulling data, but you have a knack for organizing it and finding the story within the numbers. Concise Communication: You can synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, digestible format, both in writing and in person. You understand how to deliver an impactful message without being overly wordy. Organizational Skills: You have a keen eye for detail and can balance multiple tactical activities and projects simultaneously. Education and Experience Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline (e.g., Business, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain).
