Job Description
Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Postpartum Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in maternal nursing and demonstrate expertise in newborn care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to postpartum patients and their newborns.
• Conduct regular assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage glucose screenings.
• Administer baths, assist with complex feeding schedules, and provide phototherapy as needed.
• Handle medication administration competently.
• Manage magnesium, insulin, PCA/PCEA, and heparin infusions proficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in postpartum nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experienced in newborn care and postpartum nursing techniques.
• No first-timers-applicants must have prior experience in a similar role.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for a rotating schedule that includes weekends. Flexible scheduling may be available if specified at the time of posting.

Additional Information

• The nurse will work in a team-oriented environment, with an assigned patient ratio of 1:3.
• Staff will be expected to float within the hospital as necessary, but not to affiliated facilities.
• Parking is available at a daily cost.

Healthcare Provider Commitment

In the event of low census, providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call in 4-hour increments, not exceeding 1 shift's worth of hours within a two-week cycle.
