Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehabilitation is looking for a Part-Time Therapy Aide I to join our Life Enrichment/Activities Department at our Allentown facility!

Compensation & Schedule:

• $16.59/hour
• +$2.00/hour for weekend hours
• Part-Time position
• Maximum 1,000 hours per anniversary year
• Weekend and holiday availability may be required
• Allentown facility

What You'll Do:

As a Therapy Aide I, you will assist our Life Enrichment team in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assist with planning and facilitating individual and group recreational, social, educational, and devotional programs
• Lead motivational, recreational, and learning groups
• Encourage and support residents as they participate in activities
• Help create a welcoming and engaging environment for residents
• Assist with resident outings, trips, and special events
• Schedule and accompany residents on community trips and, when required, operate facility vans or buses
• Assist with volunteer programs and help coordinate volunteers working with residents
• Maintain bulletin boards and help decorate resident areas for holidays and special events
• Maintain activity equipment, supplies, records, and inventories
• Assist residents with transfers and ambulation as instructed
• Observe residents' participation and responses and report changes or concerns appropriately
• Transport residents to activities and programs
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Able to follow safety procedures and resident-care instructions

 

Qualifications:

Required:

• Education equivalent to completion of 12th grade
• One year of experience assisting individuals with mental or physical limitations, including regular exposure to long-term care and/or therapy OR an equivalent combination of training and experience

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation
• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation with Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credentials
• A valid Pennsylvania driver's license may be required depending on work assignment.
