Category Manager for Heavy Gauge Steel FabManage overall supplier relationships for top suppliers in categoryCollaborate within the Global Category team and across Product Management and Engineering to develop long-term strategy and technology roadmapAlign the roadmap and ensure we have the correct portfolio of suppliers with capabilities to meet all business objectivesIdentification of potential supply risk and development of mitigating strategiesWork with engineering and product safety team to define critical standards for supplier selection for assigned categoryLead supplier selection for all NPI by teaming up with engineering / product management at start of new product conceptionManage the approved vendor list for category spend and communicate throughout the organization most preferred / least preferred suppliersEnsure a competitive sourcing environment by driving efforts for dual qualification of supply, routinely quoting incumbent spend, and working with sites to ensure suppliers routinely challenged on costNegotiate best in class long term supply contractsInterface with cross functional teams to assess current and future sourcing needs in terms of technology, cost, and mfg. location / lead-timeDeliver periodic executive business review of category (5-year plan) focusing on overall strategy, industry landscape, supplier capabilities, performance, and technical roadmapsHelp define strategic business objectives from a cost, delivery, contracting and NPI perspectiveMaintain working knowledge of market trends, key drivers of supply conditions, and cost structure along with any technology shifts ongoingTravel to supplier manufacturing locations to assess "ground conditions", foster healthy working relationships, and deliver key messages to supplier leadershipMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, procurement and/or engineering5+ years with Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookAbility to travel 30% international and domesticPreferred Requirements:Excellent verbal communication skillsGlobal supply chain experience working with diverse worldwide team spanning multiple time zonesFamiliarity with strategic sourcing concepts and toolsSuccessful negotiation experience with international suppliers5+ years' experience in sourcingBachelor's Degree in related field (supply chain, mechanical or industrial engineering, procurement preferred)Pay RangeThe annual salary for this position is between $117,500.00 - $234,500.00 annually.
