Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Unit - Day Shift!

Registered Nurse (RN) – 6B Medical Unit Day Shift Hours: 7 am – 7 pm, Weekends & Holidays per department guidelines. Location: Newark, DE Overview ChristianaCare Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6B Medical Unit. The selected candidate will work three 12‑hour shifts each week. As a medical nurse, you will implement a relationship‑based care model, fostering connections with patients, their families, and colleagues, all while being guided by our values of love and excellence. Unit Details Unit 6B is an inpatient unit designed to accommodate 40 patients who need acute and/or chronic medical services. The scope of services includes a variety of diagnoses and testing, such as pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and altered mental status. The patient population is adults aged 18 years and older. Patients are received/transferred/admitted from the emergency department, ICU, step‑down unit, home, and doctors’ offices. Staffing The charge nurse is responsible for daily assignments, taking into account each patient’s diagnosis, condition, acuity, age, developmental level, and the qualifications of the staff. Education & Experience RN License in Delaware or a Compact State. BSN preferred or committed to acquiring BSN within 3 years of the hire date. At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN is required. BLS required. Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, bend, and climb as per the practice area‑based Physical Demands Checklist. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to biological elements with occasional exposure to chemical and environmental elements, as per the practice area‑based Physical Demands Checklist. Pay Range Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 – $66.05. This rate represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including, without limitation, skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
