Insurance AssociateThis position provides insurance licensed financial and non-financial support to Wisconsin Heartland Associates. This position serves as a resource to Financial Advisors focused on fixed life, annuities and health insurance and, working with a Financial Advisor develops and implements business and marketing plans to acquire, cultivate, and retain members. Responsibilities may include prospecting and marketing, case and proposal preparation, referral generation, and building a sense of "community" with and among members. The Insurance Associate reports to and is employed/contracted by the Financial Advisor. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the sponsor for insurance licensure.Position Roles/Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesHandle sensitive communications with members, which may include highly confidential information and effectively respond through verbal and written communications to ensure a high level of customer satisfactionFacilitate and/or co-present insurance product specific seminars and/or workshops as necessaryParticipate in business planning for the practice as neededCounsel and advise prospective and current members on particular insurance products and policies for purchaseOpen and complete insurance product applicationsObtain member financial information for the sale of fixed insurance, fixed annuity and health productsExplain, discuss or interpret insurance coverage; analyze exposures or policies; provide recommendationsIssue certificates of insurance, endorsements, binders, commitments, or insurance contractsAssist Financial Advisors in the preparation and follow up for the client/member meetingsCollaborate with Financial Advisors to assist members with fixed insurance, fixed annuity or health product changesParticipate and drive marketing services including direct-mail, fraternal activities, seminars, meetingsAdditional responsibilities may be assigned in accordance with licensure and business needsPosition QualificationsPrevious administrative/secretarial experience desiredMust be insurance licensed/appointed in all states in which the candidate would be doing support work for Wisconsin Heartland Associates.Must be willing to complete appropriate state training in order to sell Long Term Care if this is determined to be a part of the position or support needs of the sponsoring Financial Advisor.Demonstrated customer service orientation/experience, 2+ years preferredAbility to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptionsAbility to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential informationBasic understanding of Wisconsin Heartland Associates, our products and services, and Thrivent FinancialCompetenciesPlanning/OrganizingAnalytical thinkerCustomer FocusCommunicationInterpersonal SkillsTeamwork and CollaborationAdaptability/FlexibilityExternal/Internal DependenciesMust be able to work with all roles of the Wisconsin Heartland Associates.Must be able to represent the organization in work with external clientsMust be able to cultivate and maintain relationships with outside organizationsCompensation and BenefitsBase salary of $36,000, along with a percentage of commissions from sales generated revenue.As part of Wisconsin Heartland Associates recruiting/hiring/contracting process, a verification of a candidate's background will be made to complete the hiring process.
