CNC Machinist

Job Title

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $25.00hr - $28.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of related CNC experience.
• 2+ years Manual machinist experience.
• Experience in ERP systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and Bills of Material (BOM).
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
• Ability to understand M-Code and G-Code programming.
• Must have a complete understanding of applicable middleware software applications and demonstrate the ability to navigate options.
• Ability to use Windchill (Product Data Management application).
• Ability to use personal computer and/or workstation.
• Ability to use Quality Management Software.
• Lean and Continuous Improvement experience.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate all CNC lathes and CNC mills to produce products to print specifications.
• Design fixtures or work holding jigs.
• Operate CNC controlled metal-cutting and related processing machines and equipment including turning lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, and saws.
• Plan and perform setups, first article layouts, and execution of work according to product specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect all materials and components to assure they meet accepted quality standards.
• Participate in Lean events with active involvement in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Ensure safe operation of tools and machinery and report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately.
• Shut down production and report safety or quality concerns to appropriate representatives.
• Ensure accurate movement of inventory through assigned area using Oracle for transactions and production reporting.
• Complete required inspection documentation, marking of heat numbers, and hold tags.
• Perform daily maintenance check sheets.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack as required for tasks.
• Assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of less experienced machinists.
• Perform first piece quality audits and roving audits as required.
• Move material with motorized equipment.

• Experience training others.
• Ability to edit M-Code and G-Code programming.

Physical Requirements (Due to nature of job, the candidate must have):

• Ability to perform strenuous work.
• Ability to stand at a workstation for extended periods.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment including steel-toed shoes and safety glasses.
