Supplier Quality Engineer

Technical Liaison

In this role you act as the technical liaison across GM purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and the supplier base to resolve quality and manufacturing issues. You will validate APQP/PPAP readiness, review supplier plans, and drive root cause investigations and corrective actions. You'll also qualify supplier parts and support launches and changes, contributing to robust supplier quality systems. This position offers cross-functional exposure and impact on vehicle launch quality and supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplier adherence to APQP processes and PPAP requirements
• Review and approve supplier quality plans (Control Plans, PFMEA) for new components and assemblies
• Assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems
• Conduct root cause analyses and drive corrective actions for supplier issues
• Perform on-site supplier visits for problem resolution and verification of corrective actions
• Implement and monitor supplier part qualification and certification (PPAP, Run at Rate)
• Improve supplier quality through on-site workshops and technical support for robust quality systems
• Provide technical support during supplier launches, changeovers, and ongoing production activities

Key requirements

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field
• 2 years experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing or related
• Knowledge of probability, statistical quality control and design of experiments
• Ability to investigate quality problems and apply technical judgment
• Experience managing multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international)
