Principal Operations Research Analyst / Systems Engineer – Arlington, VA This on-site role is located in Arlington, VA. What You Will Do Develop, analyze, and assess system operations and results specific to both internal RTX and external customers’ operational problem sets in the operational domains of maritime, land, air, space, and C2. Use Raytheon proprietary software, analytical tools and methods, campaign analysis, and systems-level visualization to describe results and recommendations to the customer. Develop and visualize solutions to worldwide challenges that favor our warfighters. Develop and integrate computer models and simulations that effectively capture systems-of-systems effects in varied and complex threat environments. Use the model to generate virtual and/or analytical solutions, identify technology gaps, and demonstrate operational benefits of new concepts in complex scenarios. Provide wargame analysis, including onsite decision adjudication and analysis. After initial experience, augment and support: Wargaming efforts to train military operators and senior decision makers for U.S. and allied forces. Evaluation of end-to-end military systemic needs to determine interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill-chain for internal Raytheon, RTX wider or external customers. Model system and mission kill-chains using U.S. Government, commercial, and Raytheon M&S tools. Develop metrics that communicate the chain of events that led to an action. Create, refine, and implement algorithms to provide next-generation performance across the entire system of systems. Qualifications Typical requirement: a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws/regulations). Experience with scripting languages Python, Shell, and/or Perl. Military Operations Analysis, Operations Research and Analysis, wargaming, and/or Modeling & Simulation experience in the defense industry and/or military, and/or data analysis & visualization. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance on start date. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in STEM and/or specialized degree (Operations Research, Military Science/Military Studies, Intelligence Studies). Experience with Raytheon-owned Modeling and Simulation tools (OpsTool or RCADE), Raytheon-owned visualization tool (VIS), or Government/Industry Modeling and Simulation tools (AFSIM, OneSAF, Brawler, STK). Experience in software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java in Unix or Linux computing environments. Knowledge of DoD and/or IC Mission Areas (e.g., Space, Air, Land, Maritime), systems (e.g., radar, sonar, electro-optical, IR, directed energy), and/or military tactics and the ability to represent such employment. Experience with advanced analytical metrics and methods, especially dealing with large volumes of data from competitive sports applicable to red vs blue military wargaming, campaign analysis, SABRmetrics, Moneyball, and golf ShotLink. Active Top Secret DoD clearance. What We Offer Salary range: 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. Relocation eligible - relocation assistance available for this position.
