Job Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating automated CNC cutting equipment to accurately cut insulation and sheet metal components according to specifications and blueprints. You will use precision measuring tools to ensure high-quality, consistent output while following established processes and safety standards on a 2nd shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automated industrial CNC cutting equipment for insulation and sheet metal components.
• Pull and prepare required metal parts and materials for each job prior to cutting.
• Retrieve and load the correct CNC program for each piece based on job specifications and work orders.
• Perform coordinated cutting operations on sheet metal and insulation using CNC cutting equipment.
• Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate dimensions and cuts.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts to confirm quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
• Maintain cutting tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with cutting tools, metals, and CNC machinery.
• Organize and maintain a clean, orderly work area to support efficient workflow on the production floor.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with CNC insulation cutting operations.
• Ability to set up and operate automated CNC cutting equipment for metals and insulation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Demonstrated ability to perform accurate cutting of metal and insulation materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precise parts.
• Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines in a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with industrial CNC cutting equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Familiarity with cutting tools and techniques for sheet metal and related materials.
• Comfort working with measuring instruments and verifying tolerances in a production setting.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with production team members.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will work with automated CNC cutting equipment, sheet metal, insulation materials, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. The role involves standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and handling cutting tools while following safety procedures. The production floor environment is structured and process-driven, with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
