Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour variable day and night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Low census hours eligible up to 36 hours - may be reduced in 4-hour increments per shift as needed
• Post Surgical Care Unit providing pre and post-surgical care for adult and geriatric patients on a 40-bed inpatient unit
• Nurse to patient ratio: days/evenings 1:4 or 1:5, nights 1:5 to 1:7
• Fast-paced unit averaging 10 to 15 admissions per day with 90-95% occupancy during the week and average length of stay of 2 to 3 days
• Must have ability to multitask and prioritize patient care based on acuity while working as part of a team
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Equipment used includes Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps
• Required certifications: WI RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Scrub color: any color

This facility is a well-established regional hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and surgical services. The Post Surgical Care Unit is a 40-bed inpatient area that supports patients along the full continuum of pre and post-surgical care, with a high volume of daily admissions and strong occupancy rates. The facility maintains high standards of patient care and utilizes advanced technology including Epic EMR to support clinical staff in delivering efficient and effective care.
