Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
• Onsite Mon-Wed/Remote Thurs & Fri

Position Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join a team of 13 accounting professionals and support a large-scale company-wide initiative. This role will be responsible for performing financial accounting activities, participating in month-end close processes, resolving accounting discrepancies, and assisting with the implementation of new accounts, reports, and processes as part of a major corporate project.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform financial accounting functions and related control activities in accordance with accounting principles and statutory accounting standards.
• Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
• Participate in monthly close activities, including reconciliations, analyses, and reporting.
• Research and resolve reconciliation issues, account imbalances, and open suspense items.
• Validate and ensure the accuracy of accounting transactions generated by multiple systems as well as manual accounting processes.
• Support a large-scale corporate project involving the creation of new accounts, reports, and accounting processes.
• Assist with testing system changes and evaluating the impact on accounting processes and financial reporting.
• Analyze accounting data and provide recommendations for process improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with accounting team members and cross-functional partners to meet project deadlines and business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, debits and credits, and journal entry preparation.
• Experience performing account reconciliations and supporting month-end close activities.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to maintain, manipulate, and analyze spreadsheets accurately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook for email communication and calendar management.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting accounting-related projects, system implementations, or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience testing system changes and validating accounting impacts.
• Exposure to financial reporting and general ledger accounting.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
