Platform Engineer

Our client is seeking a Platform Engineer to help design, build, and maintain internal platforms that empower engineering teams to deliver software efficiently and reliably. You'll work on infrastructure and tooling that supports large-scale, high-traffic systems, providing automation, APIs, and workflows that make engineering best practices seamless. This is a fully remote position. Platform Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties: Develop and maintain internal developer platforms, services, and automation tools that simplify engineering workflows. Implement infrastructure and deployment systems using a code-first approach, including CI/CD pipelines, environment provisioning, and orchestration tools. Build, operate, and enhance cloud and Kubernetes platform capabilities, focusing on automation, consistency, and safety. Monitor and improve platform reliability through observability, metrics, and standards that drive operational excellence. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify friction points and convert them into reusable, scalable platform solutions. Platform Engineer's Qualifications and Skills: Strong software engineering experience in one or more languages: Python, Go, Java, Rust, or .NET, including debugging and optimizing production systems. Experience designing, building, or supporting distributed systems at scale, ideally in Kubernetes environments. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred; other major cloud providers considered). Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to build maintainable, reliable, and scalable internal systems treated as full-fledged products.
