Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Research Data Specialist I

Under the general direction of the Research Data Supervisor (RDS) II, Human Resources (HR) Projects and Reporting Solution Services, the Research Data Specialist I (RDS I) is responsible for the most complex statistical inferential analysis and assessment in the evaluation, analysis, and reporting. The incumbent will evaluate, develop and provide data needed to make department-wide data driven decisions. The incumbent will independently conduct the more complex data analysis, data validation, data issue resolution and support the HR goals and initials. The incumbent will provide ongoing data system analysis for program evaluation and program monitoring.

Research Da ta Analyst II

Under the general supervision of the RDS II, HR Projects and Reporting Solution Services, the Research Data Analyst II (RDA II) will be responsible for collaboratively developing and performing complex technical research and performing tasks that are critical to the operations of California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) Projects and Reporting Solution Services unit. The incumbent will evaluate, develop and provide data needed to make department-wide data driven decisions. The RDA II is considered the policy subject matter expert, and regularly serves as lead analyst on ad hoc projects, and is responsible for the research, analysis, review, and corresponding tasks necessary to enable services within the unit. The incumbent will provide ongoing data system analysis for program evaluation and program monitoring.
