Wilmington Health is committed to using collaborative, evidence-based medicine in providing the highest quality of care to the patients we serve.The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesMaintains patient confidentialityPerforms telephone triage as neededTaking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physicianCollaborates and coordinates with business office staff to schedule patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities)Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/interventionDocuments assessment and interventions thoroughly and conciselyDevelops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physiciansUses computer system efficiently and accuratelyProvides patient/staff educationOversees LPN's and CMA/RMAPerforms specialty procedures as trained and as needed: Peripheral IV therapyIV Therapeutic phlebotomyLab draws as orderedAccess of implanted portsPerforms other duties and projects as assignedOther DutiesOrdering medications and suppliesPatient educationMonitoring Infusion therapyOngoing assessment for potential reactions/side effectsQualificationsRequired :North Carolina or Compact RN licenseAssociate or Bachelor's Degree in NursingBLS certificationACLS certificationADA Physical DemandsRarely (Less than .5 hrs/day) Occasionally (0.6 – 2.5 hrs/day) Frequently (2.6 – 5.5 hrs/day) Continuously (5.6 – 8.0 hrs/day)Physical Demand - Required? - FrequencyStanding - ContinuouslySitting - FrequentlyWalking - ContinuouslyKneeling/Crouching - RarelyLifting - RarelyI understand by signing this job description I am agreeing to all duties and responsibilities explained here.
