Lead Technical Trainer

Job Description Summary GE Vernova's Power Conversion business provides critical electrification systems for high-performance applications across the energy, maritime, and industrial sectors. The Technical Trainer will design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective technical training programs for internal engineers, field service engineers, and external customers on GE Vernova Power Conversion products. This role requires a strong technical understanding of our product portfolio, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to create and maintain high-quality training materials. Beyond training delivery, this role contributes to continuous improvement by collaborating with the technical support team and incorporating field feedback into training content. Job Description Who We Are Power Conversion and Storage business works closely with end users in energy-intense industrial applications. We focus on offering integrated electrical systems. A strategy aligned to three major macro trends: Power Stability, Energy Storage and Industrial Electrification. Essential Responsibilities Design and develop comprehensive training materials, including course objectives, subject matter outlines, lesson plans, presentations, hands-on exercises, and training manuals, for new and existing courses. This includes adapting content for various learning styles and delivery methods (classroom, on-site, virtual, etc.…). Deliver engaging and effective training sessions to diverse audiences, including internal engineers, field service engineers, and external customers, both at our training facility and customer sites. Develop and manage hands-on training exercises using real equipment and simulation tools. This includes maintaining and troubleshooting simulation equipment and ensuring its readiness for training sessions. Regularly review and update training materials based on feedback from training participants, technical support teams, and field experience. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance training effectiveness. Work closely with product teams to stay informed on product updates, field issues, and customer needs. Contribute to knowledge sharing and ensure training materials reflect the latest product information. Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, venue arrangements, material preparation, and participant communication. For on-site training, coordinate with customer contacts to ensure smooth execution. Provide occasional technical support to customers on GE Power Conversion products, leveraging product expertise and field experience. This cross-functional involvement enhances understanding of customer challenges and informs training content. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college. Minimum 5 years of experience with, drives/automation software engineer, or field service engineer. Ability and willingness and ability to travel as needed Desired Characteristics Provide occasional technical support to customers on GE Power Conversion products, leveraging product expertise and field experience. This cross-functional involvement enhances understanding of customer challenges and helps improve training content. Minimum of 2 years of practical working knowledge of at least one similar to GE Power Conversion drive systems (e.g., MV3000, MV7000, SD7000, U7000, VDM25000). Minimum of 2 years of practical working knowledge of at least one similar to GE Power Conversion application software tool (e.g., HPCi, P80i, EMS, Isagraf, Iconics, PCVue, Proficy Machine Edition, ect…). Experience in equipment design or commissioning. Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external customers. Experience with various engineering areas. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies. Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
