About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years pediatric experience within an Adult/Pediatric combined Emergency Department or a Pediatric Emergency Department is required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, ENPC required. Must-Have: Candidates must have ENPC prior to signing. No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be accepted. COVID-19 vaccination is required, with exceptions for religious and medical reasons. Description: This position requires the ability to work during peak holiday periods. Candidates must be available to work on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day for holiday pay. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4, but may increase during busy periods. Travelers may be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend shifts include Saturday and Sunday for day shifts, and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for night shifts. Floating to pediatric admission floors may be required as needed. Candidates should possess skills in pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, starting IVs, and interpretation of 12-lead EKGs. Experience in trauma/resuscitation is preferred. During high census periods, admission holds may be boarded in the Pediatric Emergency Department for longer than usual durations. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong emergency room experience. This role involves managing the care of neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. Compliance with all facility protocols and standards of care is mandatory. This position is part of a Level I trauma, teaching children's hospital setting.
