Job Description

As a Product Manager Intern on the Retail team, you will dive into the full lifecycle of product portfolio management - taking ideas from initial concept all the way to store shelves. Working alongside cross-functional partners in marketing, engineering, and sales, you will analyze market trends, gather real customer insights, and help shape data-driven category strategies. In this hands-on role, you will tackle real-world business challenges, refine go-to-market strategies, support life cycle initiatives and contribute in product launches that fuel retail growth.

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

• Market & Competitive Analysis: Gather and analyze competitive data, pricing, and retail market trends to support category strategy and product positioning
• New Product Development (NPD) Support: Assist product managers through stage-gate development processes by organizing product requirements, tracking timelines, and compiling voice-of-customer (VOC) research.
• Lifecycle & Portfolio Assistance: Support the auditing of existing product lines, reviewing SKU performance, pricing structures, and inventory to aid lifecycle management decisions.
• Commercialization Collaboration: Partner with Brand and Channel Marketing teams to help review and organize sales enablement tools, point-of-purchase displays, packaging layouts, and digital content.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Support daily operational inquiries from sales and customer teams regarding product features, sample requests, and availability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program (preferably in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field).

• Strong analytical ability with proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Powerpoint).
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in basic business, marketing, or retail concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to summarize complex data into clear, fact-based insights and recommendations.
• Strong interest or curiosity in how consumer products are designed, packaged, and sold in stores or online.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Collaborative mindset with a desire to work in a cross-functional, matrixed team environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $33,300 USD - $45,760 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
