Laborer Journeyman

Overview Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Journeyman that will be responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts. Responsibilities Load and unload equipment Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging Level ground for scaffolding Tend mortar and grout Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete Vibrate concrete Provide work direction and guidance to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentice Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels All other duties as assigned Qualifications Completion of two-year apprenticeship program Experience in construction preferred Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs Benefits Mental Healthcare Craft Dependent Scholarship Service Awards The Union provides additional benefits to team members in this position through a collective bargaining agreement, including vacation, health, insurance, pension, and job training Important Notes Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, O-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.).
