Job Title: General Production Worker – Weekend PM

Job Description

This role supports large-scale dumpling and food production by preparing ingredients, operating machinery, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. You will work as part of a small, dynamic team rotating across different stations as needed while following established procedures to ensure product quality and customer safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients used in dumpling and other food production according to established recipes and procedures.
• Operate machinery to produce soup dumplings and various food items while maintaining consistent quality and output.
• Sanitize and organize tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with USDA standards and company sanitation protocols.
• Follow all company standard operating procedures related to human safety, food safety, and quality assurance.
• Work collaboratively with the production team during active production runs and independently during preparation tasks.
• Remain flexible and ready to work at any production station as assigned, understanding that station assignments may change based on business needs.
• Pack, label, and handle products accurately, including basic inventory and packaging tasks.
• Use material handling tools and equipment, including RF scanners if required, to move and track products and materials.
• Follow instructions carefully and complete all assigned tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Maintain excellent attendance, arriving on time and staying for the full scheduled shift, including taking only the allotted 30-minute break.
• Accurately clock in and out for each shift and immediately notify a supervisor if any timekeeping issues arise.
• Adhere to attendance and conduct expectations, including no call/no show policies and guidelines for excused absences.
• Follow all personal hygiene, grooming, and dress code requirements to protect product quality and customer safety.
• Wash hands thoroughly with soap before starting work and after using the restroom, and re-glove as needed to maintain hygiene.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hair nets, beard nets, lab coats, gloves, cut-resistant gloves when using knives, and ear protection as directed.
• Avoid eating, drinking, or chewing gum on the production floor and comply with rules regarding glass and brittle plastic in production areas.
• Support visitor safety and compliance by following sign-in and escort procedures when visitors are present.
• Adapt to a varying schedule that may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and other hours as business requires.
• Navigate parking and arrival expectations by using nearby street parking when the main lot is full to ensure on-time arrival.

• Ability to wear required PPE such as hair nets, beard nets, lab coats, gloves, cut-resistant gloves, and ear protection for extended periods.
• Professional, polite demeanor and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a team setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with packing, packaging, and inventory-related tasks in a production or warehouse environment.
• Experience in general labor, material handling, or similar hands-on roles.
• Familiarity with RF scanners or similar tools for tracking materials and products.
• Comfort rotating between different workstations and tasks based on operational needs.
• Understanding of strict attendance policies, including no call/no show expectations and limited excused absences.
• Ability to communicate promptly with supervisors about timekeeping or attendance issues.
• Readiness to comply with detailed hygiene and grooming standards, including removal of jewelry and certain cosmetics during work.
• Openness to weekend-focused schedules and PM shifts.
• Motivation to meet eligibility requirements for weekly performance-based bonuses tied to attendance and shift completion.

Work Environment

This role is based in a food production facility operating weekend PM shifts, with schedules that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs evolve. The team is small and collaborative, and you may rotate between various stations and tasks depending on production demands. Temperatures can vary by area, so employees should be prepared to dress in layers. Floors and workspaces may be wet during production and sanitation activities, and clothing and footwear may become wet or dirty. The environment requires strict adherence to hygiene and safety protocols: employees must be healthy to work, wash hands frequently, and follow all food safety rules. Dress code includes clean clothing with no fuzzy garments, no shorts, and closed-toe shoes only. Fragrances such as perfumes and colognes are not allowed because scents can transfer to food products. All jewelry and removable cosmetics, including rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, fake eyelashes, and fake nails, must be removed before work; secure storage (such as bags provided by leads or QA) may be available. Required PPE includes hair nets and beard nets (with specific colors for allergen work), navy blue lab coats (reusable or disposable as provided), gloves in appropriate sizes, cut-resistant gloves when using knives, and earplugs, especially in noisier areas like near spiral freezers. Eating, drinking, and gum are not permitted on the production floor, and glass or brittle plastic items are prohibited for customer safety. The facility uses standard production and packaging equipment, and employees may handle materials, packaging, and RF scanners. Parking can be limited in the main lot, so employees may need to use nearby street parking and walk a short distance to ensure timely arrival.

This is a Contract position based out of Sumner, WA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
