We recruit a perfect fit, every time. *Candidates must be local to Columbia, MO* Position Overview: Our client is seeking both a Staff Accountant and Senior Accountant to support the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information across multiple entities. These roles are responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close activities, and process improvements. Depending on experience level, candidates may take ownership of more complex accounting functions, support strategic initiatives, and provide technical accounting guidance. The ideal candidates are analytical, detail‑oriented professionals who thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Provide accounting support across multiple entities, contributing to accurate financial reporting and financial statement preparation Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger transactions Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, including cash, debt, revenue, and expense accounts Support or lead month‑end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Manage or assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor payment processes Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and capital project accounting Prepare financial reports, analyses, and supporting schedules for management, audits, and external reporting requirements Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, variances, and financial issues Maintain data accuracy across ERP systems and financial reporting platforms Support audit preparation and compliance with accounting policies and procedures Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and special projects Senior‑level candidates may serve as a technical accounting resource, support acquisitions or entity integrations, and provide guidance on GAAP‑related matters Qualifications Staff Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 1–3 years of accounting experience; internship experience may be considered Solid understanding of accounting principles and GAAP Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication skills and attention to detail CPA‑track or professional certification progress is a plus Senior Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month‑end close processes Experience with complex reconciliations, financial analysis, and multi‑entity accounting environments Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership capabilities Experience with acquisitions, integrations, or complex accounting environments is a plus Ability to mentor junior team members and provide technical accounting guidance as needed #J-18808-Ljbffr
