Junior Program Analyst

Position Description:The Junior Program Analyst (JPA) will support the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division; National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) mission to ensure national security and public safety by providing the timely determination of a person’s eligibility to possess firearms or explosives in accordance with federal law. The JPA shall conduct activities in support of the team’s objective by working closely with Senior Analysts or Team Leads.Position Responsibilities:Performs analyst functions including data collection, interviewing, data modeling, project testing, and creation of performance measurements to support project objectives.Conducts verification on specific Originating Agency Identifiers. Corrects/updates contact and agency information.Composes proper transaction research comments.Verifies/validates documents received and current documents within the NICS and/or other CJIS Division databases.Conducts research on explosives permit checks and analyzes information for validity.Provides analysis per procedure on NICS transactions as required by the NICS.Performs research and analysis on two existing Delay Queue transactions per hour in accordance with SOPs. The contract staff will be monitored for quality by the government.Conducts verification on Originating Agency Identifiers. Corrects/updates corresponding contact/agency information.Contacts other agencies and documents any contact-related issues (agency, method of contact, description of issue) to be supplied to the NICS Section's Business Advocate Team (BAT).Provides updated or new contact information received while in correspondence with any agency to the BAT.Processes incoming appeal requests via the NICS, assists with providing first day responses.Validates submitted appeal disposition documentation for accuracy.Continuously evaluates existing procedures, processes, techniques, models, and/or systems related to the work being processed and provides recommended actions or solutions.Assists the NICS Section with composing/maintaining documentation work as required under the current SOP.Provides necessary document clean-up of existing records to update and/or purge documentation.Manages proper control of their individually assigned Brady Identification Numbers.Required Skills and Experience:High School Diploma or GED and minimum 1-year related experience, preferably in any of the following: FBI (CJIS/NICS preferred), Federal Law Enforcement, State & Local Law Enforcement, Background InvestigationsExcellent oral and written communication skills and intermediate knowledge of computer and office equipment.Knowledge of applying analytic methodologies and principles to address client's needs.Required Security:U.S. CitizenshipMinimum Secret ClearancePass a 7- or 10-year minimum background investigation.EnProVera may issue conditional job offers that depend on government contract award, funding, contract execution, and required approvals.
