ABOUT THE ROLE

The Cardiac Lung Service Line night shift APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP functions as a member of the surgical management team throughout the cardiac lung service line . In conjunction with the attending, the APP will oversee care from OR/inpatient to discharge and throughout all aspects of the continuum of care.

UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital : The University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital is a 569-bed acute care hospital. It has Central and Eastern Kentucky s only Level I trauma center and handles the most severe traumas. It has the only Level 4 neonatal intensive care unit in the area to treat the sickest infants.

The hospital offers 100 intensive care beds, a post-anesthesia care unit, 17 operating rooms, 14-bed labor and delivery and 26 mother-baby rooms. The hospital draws upon the resources of six UK colleges: Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Public Health.

The UK Transplant center has provided second chances for lung patients and their families for more than 30 years. Since 1991, the team has completed more than 500 lung transplants and, according to survival data, UK has one of the best lung transplant programs in the nation. UK offers lung transplant procedures for adults with a variety of life-limiting lung diseases, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Pulmonary Fibrosis, Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension and Sarcoidosis. UK offers combined heart and lung transplants, ECMO as a bridge to transplant, and new treatments for those living with black lung disease. Our clinics in both Lexington and Louisville, KY allow us to offer care close to home for those living in both the eastern and western halves of the state.

QUALIFICATIONS MSN for Nurse Practitioners OR BS for Physician Assistants
One (1) year of related experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) with appropriate certification
