Benefit Services Specialist II

Position Summary The Benefit Services Specialist (BSS) serves as the primary point of contact for TotalSource clients and internal service and business partners, providing guidance and governance for all TotalSource Health and Welfare plan administration services and benefit programs. Job Responsibilities Administers, manages and governs a variety of benefit plans on a day-to-day basis, processing transactions and events such as pending enrollments, dependents verification, new hires, life and termination events, and annual open enrollment. Partners with back office teams to coordinate transaction processing, audits and deliverables. Performs data integrity and enrollment/eligibility audits, researching and resolving issues identified through these audits. Reviews, maintains and modifies standard operating and client operating processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending changes. Manages and monitors data flow and integration, including carrier connections, payroll, and carrier updates, resolving errors timely and escalating issues as required. Provides tier 2 client and internal business partner service support, communicating and executing benefit policy changes and resolving complex client benefit problems. Works with benefit providers to support client benefits administration and resolve eligibility issues. Provides service support related to the administration of health and welfare benefit programs to clients and internal partners via phone, CRM, email, or in person. Continually upgrades knowledge and skill base related to health and welfare benefit programs, compliance and process improvement initiatives. Partners with team members to coordinate and execute Annual Enrollment processes for clients. Assists in analyzing plan and service requirements for transitioning a client to service from implementation, ensuring system configuration and documentation are accurate. Mentors all levels of service associates, providing guidance, training and soft skill development. Acts as the primary point of contact for client, internal business partners and HRBP/CRE/GM on benefits administration best practices and compliance standards. Proactively identifies problems and offers solutions to improve internal operations and plan administration. Responds to complex client issues and escalations, ensuring support meets or exceeds client expectations. Develops and implements workflow to ensure accurate processing of transactions for TotalSource service providers such as Section 125/FSA, COBRA, 401(k) etc. Experience 2-4 years of experience in Benefits Administration functions. Payroll, Accounting and HRIS experience is a plus. Qualifications In-depth knowledge of TotalSource (or other enterprise HR‑Welfare products) and proven proficiency navigating the ADP organization to resolve client requests. Skills Effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and conflict management abilities, ability to work effectively in reactive situations under limited supervision, and knowledge of HR, Benefits, Payroll software and related technology support. Education Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business related field or equivalent education and experience required. SHRM, GBA/CEBS, PHR or SPHR desired.
