Position Details Mode: Regular Department: Monitoring Center Location: SSM Health St. Agnes – Fond du Lac, 430 E Division St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935 Shift: Evenings (2:45pm – 11:15pm) Hours: 32 per week (evening schedule, every other weekend and holiday) Job Summary Ensures continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms by observing cardiac monitors; maintains all records and reports of rhythm strips in accordance with nursing standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities Run a rhythm strip at admission, every four hours, and with any rhythm change. Measure PR, QRS, and QT intervals and interpret rhythms accurately when a strip is run. Sign each strip with first initial, full last name, and position, then complete the rhythm verification form and send it to the appropriate unit promptly. Post strips on the telemetry log for all units and notify staff of any changes in baseline rhythm, including heart rate or potentially lethal rhythms in adults or children according to protocol. Ensure alarms are on at all times with appropriate limits for adults and children, and notify staff when electrodes or batteries require checking, replacement, or change. Show awareness of how procedures or medications affect a patient’s rhythm. Run a continuous strip for sustained VT, V‑fib, asystole, and bradycardia under 40bpm until a code team arrives or otherwise notified. Maintain telemetry logs, current patient information, transmitter/SPO₂ inventory per shift, and telemetry charges. Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or ten years of relevant work experience. No prior experience required. Physical requirements: frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling (0–25lb) and occasional lifting up to 50lb; frequent standing, walking, reaching; frequent use of vision, hearing, speech, keyboard, and data entry.
