Data Engineer Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer position with a financial client located in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid 6+ month contract opportunity. Summary: Our client is leading a Digital Transformation across their Americas Division as they continue to modernize their technology, focus on a data-driven approach, and plan for the future. As a result of this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with 10+ years of relevant experience to support the design and development of a strategic data platform for a leading financial services client. Responsibilities:

• Be part of the Data Strategy team, spanning across Capital Markets and securities teams
• Actively develop the data platform, beginning with the establishment of a reference data system for securities and pricing data, and later moving to other data domains
• Follow internal development standards to contribute to the overall agenda of the Data Strategy team
• Implement a strategic platform on the client's Azure Cloud Platform

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience as a full stack Python developer and Data Engineer
• Proven experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Gen 2, Azure Databases, Azure Data Fabric, API Gateway management, and Azure Functions
• Well-versed with Azure Databricks
• Strong SQL skills with RDBMS or NoSQL databases
• Experience with developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks in Python
• Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle (git, Jenkins, etc) and CI/CD processes
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes
• Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.

Desired skills:

• Experience in the financial services industry, financial instruments, asset classes, and market data
