Behind every great pizza is an incredible team, and behind every incredible teammate is a dining experience that makes them feel welcomed from the moment they walk through our doors.That's where you come in.If you're someone who loves great food, takes pride in doing things the right way, enjoys working as part of a team, passionate about a scratch kitchen, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you.What You'll DoAs our Pizza Maker / Food Prep, you'll play an important role in creating the Home Run Inn experience our guests know and love.You'll prepare ingredients, build and cook pizzas to our standards, and help prepare other menu items so our kitchen is ready to deliver great food quickly and consistently.You'll work with our recipes and standard operating procedures while helping keep the kitchen clean, organized, safe, and ready for service.No two shifts look exactly the same, and that's part of the fun.You'll Spend Your TimeMaking great pizzaPrepare and stock ingredients and dry goods needed for pizza and food preparationRead order tickets and select the appropriate ingredientsStretch and prepare pizza crusts using proper dough-handling techniquesMeasure and apply ingredients according to HRI recipes and portioning standardsCook pizzas in the oven while monitoring the cooking processRemove pizzas from the oven and slice them for serviceFollow HRI SOPs for pizza preparation, including specified weights, measurements, portioning, dough proofing times, and safe food handling practicesWork from both verbal and written ordersPreparing food for servicePrepare ingredients and menu items according to standard recipesAssist other cooks with food preparation as neededPrepare food quickly and efficiently to meet HRI prep-time goalsRead order tickets to determine the appropriate amount and type of food and supplies neededFill individual serving cartons with appropriate portions of food and condimentsOperate fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safelyMonitor food quality and spoilageEnsure food preparation areas remain clean and organizedKeeping the kitchen stocked and organizedRefill and rotate food stock as necessaryRotate perishable food items using the FIFO methodAssist with inventory counts and orderingClean pizza ovens, meat tables, and food preparation equipment regularlyKeep your work area clean, organized, and safeFollow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirementsSupporting the teamCommunicate effectively with teammates and managementAssist other cooks and kitchen teammates during busy periodsHelp maintain a smooth and efficient kitchenJump in where needed to support the restaurant teamPerform other related duties as assignedYou're a Great Fit If You...Love food and take pride in making a great productThrive in a fast-paced environmentAre a dependable team playerPay attention to details and follow recipes and processesTake pride in keeping your work area clean and organizedAre comfortable staying active and on your feet throughout your shiftEnjoy learning different areas of the kitchenAre willing to work nights, weekends, and holidaysWhat You'll BringMust be at least 16 years old to operate kitchen equipmentAbility to constantly lift, reach, bend, and stoopAbility to stand for extended periods, up to approximately 5 hoursAbility to safely lift and stack bags and cases weighing up to 50 pounds without assistanceBasic understanding of food safety and sanitation practicesAbility to safely operate kitchen and cooking equipmentWorking knowledge of the predominant language of our guestsFlexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidaysTypical evening availability may include 4 PM–closeFood Handler certification required within 30 days of hireSafety shoes required within 30 days of hirePrevious restaurant, food preparation, or kitchen experience is a plusWhy Home Run Inn?We're more than a pizza company—we're neighbors serving neighbors.For four generations, we've built our business around people.
