- Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to assist a diverse patient population.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
- Greet and check in patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical personnel.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Coordinate with medical staff to manage patient flow and communicate any delays or changes promptly.
- Process patient payments, handle billing inquiries, and assist with insurance verification.
- Prepare and distribute patient forms, collect necessary documentation, and assist patients with completion.
- Manage office supplies and ensure the reception area is organized and professional.
