Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Traveling Physical Therapist Opportunity

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a traveling Physical Therapist role in Corpus Christi, TX at a hospital where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. Organize and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Plan therapy involving physical exercise, massage, heat, water, and utilize mechanical and electrical equipment, prosthetic and orthotic devices. Evaluate, record, and report on patient progress. Responsible for interpreting and carrying out physician prescriptions per practice act guidelines. Provide overall direction, utilization, supervision, and instruction of physical therapy assistants, support staff, volunteers, and students. Protect confidential data and the safety and welfare of patients and associates.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree) as approved by the APTA.
• Current Texas license issued by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Examiners required prior to start.
• BLS certification (AHA only) required.
• Acute care experience required.
• New graduates accepted; experience in acute settings preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising or directing physical therapy assistants and support staff preferred.
• Familiarity with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 08:00–17:00.
• Work schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
