Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree) approved by the APTA.
• Current Texas license from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Examiners required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Acute care experience required.
• Ability to interpret and carry out physician prescriptions per practice act guidelines.
• Experience directing, supervising, and instructing physical therapy assistants, support staff, volunteers, or students preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hospital settings preferred.
• Knowledge of the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice preferred.
• Excellent communication skills preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: 0800-1700.
• Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Impacting Patient Care


Organize and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Plan therapy involving physical exercise, manual techniques, heat, water, and use of mechanical or electrical equipment and prosthetic or orthotic devices. Evaluate, record, and report patient progress. Provide direction and oversight for assistants and support staff and protect patient confidentiality and safety.
