Machinist (2nd Shift)

MachinistAs a Machinist you will have the opportunity to shape metal, plastic, or other materials into precise parts, instruments, and tools. Interpret blueprints and CAD drawings, set up and operate machinery, and inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality!Location: Eastford, CTThis is a full-time role 3:30 pm to Midnight, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends.ResponsibilitiesReview drawings, and instructions to understand specificationsMonitor machines while running changing tools, offsets when necessaryOperate multiple machines simultaneouslyInspect output using basic inspection equipment and quick-check gagingUse Kaizen to flow parts and drive down costsPerforms other related duties as assignedResponsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time according to Company policyRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMust be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.Preferred QualificationsStrong mechanical skills1+ year experience in setup and operation of CNC mills and/or lathesAbility to use air and electric tools to remove metalWillingness to learn new skillsSelf-starter/motivated team playerPerform secondary operations as required: Deburring, Assembly, Marking, etc.Ability to make tool adjustments and changesGood math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsWorking ConditionsRequires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.Perform repetitive tasksMust be able to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds.Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
