Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in a fast-paced, level 2 trauma center environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with patients ranging from infants to geriatrics, primarily focusing on adult respiratory care while also providing assistance with pediatric intubated patients.

Shift Information

• Schedule: 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (06:30 - 19:00)
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
• Maximum time off (RTO) allowed: 7 days
• Floating between locations may be necessary as needed

Responsibilities

• Manage non-invasive and conventional ventilation therapies
• Administer aerosol therapy and bedside pulmonary function tests
• Perform arterial line placements and oxygen management
• Educate patients on respiratory care and management
• Conduct arterial blood gas analyses and capillary blood gases
• Draw blood samples from existing lines
• Provide care in a high-acuity environment, including trauma patients

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; first-time travelers are welcomed
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
• Georgia RRT License is mandatory
• Experience in trauma care is required
• Pulmonary function testing (Spirometry) experience is preferred

Unit Information

This role is based in a team-oriented environment that utilizes advanced technologies with systems such as Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, and GE Carescape.

Holiday Requirements

• Expected to work one major holiday if it falls within the assignment
• Expected to work two major holidays if two holidays fall within the assignment
• Expected to work two out of three major holidays if three holidays fall within the assignment

Compliance

Full compliance with credentialing and onboarding requirements is necessary to ensure timely start dates. Inability to meet compliance deadlines may result in postponements of up to two weeks.
